Geoffrey Mitchell is a collaborator researcher at both the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering in Coimbra and the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development in Marinha Grande in Portugal. He is the founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Visionary Equation, a startup company focused on the digitalisation of manufacturing and materials. His doctoral work was performed at the University of Cambridge UK and he carried out post-doctoral work at Hokkaido University, Japan. His diverse research spans physics, chemistry, life sciences and engineering with a strong focus on merging quantitative experimental procedures with manufacturing technologies such as reaction injection moulding and 3D printing, where he has developed the concept of morphology mapping. He is known for his pioneering in-situ time-resolving neutron and X-ray scattering techniques to evaluate the structural and morphological transformations in manufacturing He is current involved with the development of Operando X-ray scattering measurements during the injection moulding of semi-crystalline synthetic and biopolymers. He is intensively involved in recycling and the circular economy. Geoffrey Mitchell has edited several books including “Controlling the morphology of polymers” and “Electrospinning Principles, Practise and Possibilities” with a second edition scheduled for 2026. A book “Operando X-ray scattering measurements during polymer processing” is also scheduled for 2026.

Through EPEA Switzerland GmbH, Kaelin supports companies across diverse industries in adopting and implementing the Cradle to Cradle® design concept. Prof. Feng-Huei Lin is a leading figure in Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine, with an outstanding academic and research career spanning more than three decades. He earned his Ph.D. (1989), Master’s degree (1985), and Bachelor’s degree (1980) from National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan, specializing in Materials Science and Earth Science. He currently serves as a Researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBEN), National Health Research Institute (NHRI) and as a Tenure Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, National Taiwan University (NTU). Prof. Lin has previously held several major leadership positions, including Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at NHRI (2014–2022), Director of the Biomedical Engineering Division at NHRI (2008–2011), and Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at NTU (2005–2008). Prof. Lin has played an important editorial role in the scientific community, serving on the boards of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, and APL Bioengineering. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Biomedical Engineering (SCI) from 2007 to 2011. With over 500 SCI-indexed publications, an H-index of 72, and more than 19,000 citations, Prof. Lin is consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University for four consecutive years, placing 32nd globally in Materials Science.

Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 135) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 30,000 patients. He is currently helping those companies and serves as a professor at Brown University, Saveetha University, HebeiUniversity of Technology, UFPI, and others. Dr. Webster has numerous awards including: 2020, World Top 2% Scientist by Citations (PLOS); 2020, SCOPUS Highly Cited Research (Top 1% Materials Science and Mixed Fields); 2021, Clarivate Top 0.1% Most Influential Researchers (Pharmacology and Toxicology); 2022, Best Materials Science Scientist by Citations (Research.com); and is a fellow of over 8 societies.Prof. Webster is a former President of the U.S. Society for Biomaterials and has over 1,350 publications to his credit with over 55,000 citations. Prof. Webster also recently formed a fund to support Nigerian student research opportunities in the U.S.

Prof. Magnus S. Magnusson, Ph.D., is an Emeritus Research Professor and founder of the Human Behavior Laboratory, University of Iceland. He developed the T-system, including T-pattern and THEMETM software for pattern detection. His interdisciplinary research spans biology, neuroscience, AI, nanoscience, and more, with collaborations across 40 universities. Former Deputy Director at the National Museum of Natural History, Paris, he has held visiting professorships at the University of Paris.

Dr. Fatemeh Ajalloueian is Associate Professor and group leader of Regenerative Engineering and Advanced deLivery systems (REAL) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in regenerative medicine, drug delivery, and biomaterials. Her research focuses on designing multilayered, delamination-free scaffolds for biomedical applications, particularly in drug delivery and tissue engineering. She conducted her PhD studies at Isfahan University of Technology and Uppsala University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Karolinska Institute. In 2015, she joined DTU after receiving two prestigious fellowships: the Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF) and the HC Ørsted COFUND. She later received the DFF Sapere Aude Research Talent grant and was awarded a Eurotech Marie-Curie Fellowship. Fatemeh has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Bukola O. Awonusi obtained her Ph.D. in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, specializing in Biomaterials, from the University of Science and Technology China. Her research focuses on the development and design of novel medical devices for clinical utility, surface modification of these devices, including stents and biodegradable materials, as well as the degradation and metabolism of materials, regenerative medicine, and smart biomaterials.

Dr. Wei-Ju Huang is an Assistant Professor at Hsin-Sheng College of Medical Care and Management, Taiwan. She holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from National Yang-Ming University (2009) and completed postdoctoral training at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. Dr. Huang’s research focuses on gastrointestinal physiology, endocrinology, and drug–microbiota–biopolymer interactions. She has received awards from the Society for the Study of Reproduction and the International Union of Physiological Sciences.

Yuan Tseng (Oval Tseng) is a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University, Taipei, with an expected graduation in 2026. Her research focuses on ophthalmic viscosurgical devices (OVDs), cell sheet engineering, articular cartilage and myocardial regeneration, and microfluidic organ-on-a-chip systems. She holds an M.S. in Medical Sciences from Taipei Medical University and a B.S. in Biotechnology and Animal Science from National Ilan University. Yuan Tseng has authored peer-reviewed publications in leading biomaterials journals and has received several honors, including the ARCA Medal at iENA 2024 in Germany. She actively presents her work at international conferences and has training in translational research, medical devices, and biodesign.

Dr. Jason Lin is currently a Researcher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University. He earned his Ph.D. in the Department of Biomedical Engineering from National Taiwan University. His research expertise includes Biomaterials, Drug Delivery Systems, Bioceramics, and Composite Materials. In June 2024, he received the Best Poster Award at the 2024 Biomaterials International Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ms. Si-Fan Zhou is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering from Tatung University, where her master’s research focused on the development of thermosensitive hydrogels for vaginal drug delivery. From 2021 to 2024, she worked as a Research Assistant, contributing to project planning, proposal writing, literature review, research design, and experimental data collection and analysis. In 2025, she will serve as a Visiting Scholar at Tel Aviv University, Israel, working under Prof. Dafna Benayahu on nano-sized hydroxyapatite carriers for growth factor delivery in mesenchymal stem cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation. Her research interests include biomaterials, polymers, materials analysis, and drug delivery systems.

Ali Dahmane is a polymer engineer from Algeria, currently serving as a Chemical Engineer and Quality Control Specialist at ELKADERPLAST in Oran. He holds a Master’s degree in Polymer Materials with a specialization in Process Engineering from Ferhat Abbas 1 University, Sétif, where he researched the synthesis of unsaturated polyester resin from PET. His expertise covers polymer processing, resins and composites, and advanced characterization techniques, with professional experience across industry and research.

Yeh, Cheng-Hao is a researcher in the field of biomedical engineering with a strong academic background in materials science and engineering. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Tatung University, followed by a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from National Taiwan University. His research focuses on advanced biomaterials and thermosensitive hydrogels for biomedical applications, particularly in wound healing. His invited talk explores the development of thermosensitive hydrogels for enhanced burn wound healing through oxygen and exosome co-delivery to overcome hypoxia-induced barriers.
